Mary Geeves Roles
Convert to the church taught by Karin Lange Piltz & Donna
Jean Oates Wilkerson. I know that God lives that Jesus is the
Christ. He has been my best friend as I have shared with Father
in Heaven how I have felt, about my struggles and the importance
of being a Mother in Israel. I have been an 100% tithe payer since
the day I joined the church (Sept 1974 David Cook in Liverpool
chapel taught me to pay on the gross and not the net, I went back
to January 1974 and paid the difference. ) Since that day I have
been more than blessed. I Bless the Day I met the Lady on the
boat on Saturday 2nd September 1973. She did not know how my life
has been so richly blessed. I have had angels watching over me
since that day. Never did give me her name. I can be contacted
at: Mary Geeves Roles
Doug Rawson
My name is Doug Rawson and though I did not serve as a full time
missionary in the E.L.M., I lived and served there. I am a convert
baptised in 1957 by missionaries serving in the original British
Mission, {only one in those days}. Clifton G.M.Kerr was the president,
followed by T. Bowring Woodbury. Later,in 1960,as the very first
Bishop in Europe, I was called to preside over the Bradford Ward
in first Stake in Europe,- the Manchester Stake. I also served
as Bishop of Halifax Ward 1967-1971, counsellor to Stake President
Gordon Williams in the Huddersfield Stake 1971-1976, and then
President of the Leeds Stake 1976- 1984. I worked with all the
Mission Presidents of those years, a long series of great experiences,
and of course I remember a lot of very fine missionaries, and
still correspond with some of the 1950s vintage. The latest news
from that Mission area is that the York Stake has been organised, and
is doing well. Leeds city now has 5 Wards and a Branch, Bradford
2 Wards and a large Branch, Dewsbury 2 Wards, and Huddersfield
2 Wards and a Branch. The new Huddersfield Stake Centre was opened
last year, {the original having burned in 1992}. If anyone does
remember me I would love to hear from you, I am now remarried
and living in Salt Lake City Utah. My very best wishes to all
of you who worked so hard to help build another Zion in my homeland,
you will never be forgotten by the people there. I can be contacted
at: Doug Rawson
John Sims
Hello to all the Missionaries who served in the Hull or surrounding
areas. I was baptised by Elder Jerry Bott of Castle Dale, Utah
in 1968. Most of you will remember me as Rocky. I served as the
Bishop of the Hull 2nd Ward from 1974 - 1979, and as the Branch
President of the Hull North Branch from 1980 - 1982. I have served
as Ward Mission Leader and now serve as Stake Missionary. I would
love to hear about your lives. You will remember my passion for
Rugby League (Up The Robins!), but most importantly my love for
the Gospel. God Bless. I can be contacted at: John
Sims
Alan Spedding
I was a convert to the Church, Baptized and confirmed by Elders Dave Orton and Troy Overson. Those two years were among the best of my life and we have many fond memories of working with the missionaries. We recently returned from the Cape Town South Africa mission and had a fantastic experience. We hope to make contact with any old friends from those special years. We have seven grandkids now and old is the operative word. Both our children are married in the Temple and happy and active and we are grateful to many young missionaries who encouraged and supported us in the South Shields Ward. Love to all.
