Warren & Bonnie Anderson
Elder Anderson and I served for 6 months under Pres. Lee and the rest of our 18 months under Pres. Clarence Robison. We served in the office as the couple in charge of the flats. Elder Anderson negotiated rents, found place for the missionaries and I paid the bills. We worked with less active in the evenings and learned to love many there. Pres. & Sister Brian Midgley were so good to all of us, also Neal and Christine Bailey. We loved our mission and all we met there and quarterly meet with others and go over memories. My husband, Dave, and I just moved from California (where we both grew up) to Allen, Texas (just north of Dallas). Houses are too expensive in California and Dave got offered a job doing the same thing he was doing in Cali but he'll make more! So we moved. We have not yet been blessed with children and we feel like there are children here looking for a mom & dad, and we are a mom & dad looking for our children. We were called to the ELM serving under President Clarence & Sister Robinson. We served in the Sheffield Stake from September 1990 till January 1992. While living in Woodseats we were assigned to Sheffield Ward I & III & also worked in Chesterfield. Later we were assigned to the Rotherham Branch with Rod as Branch President. As a Senior couple, we shared a home with the young Elders in Sheffield & the Sisters in Rotherham. This was a wonderful part of our mission. Mesa, AZ, is now our home. I served with President E. Keith Wigglesworth from 92-94. Mindi passed away on 4 February 2000 from brain cancer. She fought a good fight and was valiant and faithful to the end. Her testimony was strong and vibrant, just as her life. She emulated the Savior in all she did and we miss her terribly. She loved her mission in Leeds and all those she worked with. She served all around her and we, as her family look forward to the day when we will be together again forever. Her mission continues on the other side of the veil. Jennifer Wolff Speer ( Sister Wolff )
I served with Presidents Wigglesworth & Rowe from in Spen Valley, York, Halifax, Mansfield, Sunderland, and Newton Aycliff. While in Newton Aycliff I saw a "doctor" that said I had 2 years to live. So home I flew to find that the doctor was indeed wrong. I was able to finish my mission in the Indiana Indianapolis Mission. Those three months proved what we already knew; stateside missionaries are spoiled! And that the ELM is the best! Brian Speer and I met a whole three days after I returned ( four days after Brian returned ) Five months later we were married in the Alberta Cardston Temple in Canada.
