| January 17 2007 Dear June: Thank you for the 2 Esterbrook pens. I am writing this with the green pen. Thank you also for the tips on the correct ink. The Green "J" Pen is just like my old one in high school, without the teeth makes. Yours truly Norm Hunt DECEMBER 2007 I received a note from a happy customer. Dear June: The Waterson set arrived yesterday( Monday). It's exactly what I wanted, and I'm delighted with it. I don't often order things online (except books), and your photos and description were accurate. Many thanks, Anne Cure Pamela I received the pen in the mail today and it is a beauty. Thanks so much. Will get looking for other items on your site. Warren Rosenaur |
This website is for lovers of fountain pens, inkwells, and inkstands. I will be showing some of my collection.
| In 1980 I started to collect fountain pens and I
enjoyed it immensely. After collecting and finding all
sorts of lovely pens it seemed that all the sources dried
up. So about five years ago I turned to inkwells and
inkstands as they seemed to be more plentiful. You can still find some nice inkwells and inkstands today, some more than one hundred years after they were first used and some were still being used in the fifties and the sixties in different parts of the country. I am especially fond of glass and brass. Other materials also interest me. Lately, I have found a few inkstands which I call industrial inkstands. These wells and stands spent their lives in hospitals, banks and other institutions. The vast varieties of materials and subjects make this a truly exciting hobby. Prices have increased tremendously in the last ten years. Still, some very nice inkwells and stands can be purchased for a modest amount of money. The inkwells and stands here listed are as stated to the best of my ability to describe them. As you may know finding inkwells and inkstands in a complete condition is becoming more difficult. Some lids were flimsily made and some lids were quite poorly attached to the inkwells. As for inkstands it is also amazing that the inkwells are still with the inkstands. They were used on a daily basis and had to stand up to a lot of use. Some were simply not made to last. The inkwells and stands come in an amazing variety. Some inkwells that I have passed up were truly amazing. I also have some wonderful crystal inkwells without their lids. If anyone has a whole hoard of inkwell lids I and a few others would like to know about them. I still buy wonderful crystal inkwells if they are in good shape just because I love the look and the feel of them. The collecting of things for the desk is a scintillating experience as one rarely sees the exact same inkwell, stand or pen twice. It is always wisest to buy inkwells and inkstands when they are complete. This is not always possible. Sometimes the wells or stands are just too nice to pass up. It is unlikely that you will be able to find a lid for it. Knowing all this, please take a look at our inkwells and inkstands for the home and office. The collecting of inkstands, inkwells and fountain pens is a wonderful way to feel a connection with the past. |
