NOTICE:
As much advance notice as possible must be given if you are planning to attend
these dinners. Please give a minimum of two days notice if you plan to
attend any of these functions!!!! The entertainment committee is not running a
restaurant where they can cook as you arrive. They purchase enough
food to feed those expected to attend so please let the Lodge or the
phoning committee know if you are going to be there.
We
desperately need volunteers to help out with the Elks and Royal Purple
National Curling Championship
being hosted by Kamloops Elks Lodge No. 44 in Kamloops March 22 thru to March
27, 2004.
The curling committee is moving along in organizing this event but more volunteers will be required as the event gets closer and of course during the event. We need help for the following committees: Reception, Meals and Entertainment, Finance, Registration and Accommodation, Publicity, Program Booklet, Transportation and Fundraising.
This is not
only a huge event for the Elks but also for the City of Kamloops. There will
be people coming from all across Canada and for this to be a successful event
we need more people to help out. WE
NEED YOU-EVEN IF YOU ONLY CAN GIVE A FEW HOURS!!

PHONING COMMITTEE??? Prior to the Birthday dinners, three or four of our already over worked volunteers formed a phoning committee. It does make a difference. These members spend approximately 20 to 30 minutes each, once or twice a month, phoning all the Kamloops and vicinity members. As indicated, these members are already over worked and we would like to see some other members volunteer to be on a phoning committee. Please contact the office or the Exalted Ruler if you wish to help.
I would like to extend my apologies and give a great big THANK YOU from the Lodge to Bruce Glendenning who did an excellent job for us during the Grey Cup.

It was very unfortunate that at our Regular Meeting December 11 the Blues Underground Network decided to leave our premises and seek another venue. All the best to them in the future.
On December 12 we catered to the Lion’s. With the help of Danny our cook everything went smoothly.
We are pleased to announce that on December 14 we had 48 children attend our annual Christmas party. To say the least they were entertained “Santaly” by our new Mr. Claus.
On February 1 we had our annual Super Bowl party.
Many thanks to Mike and Carol White, who put together a great chili, Gary Wolfe for looking after the door prizes
and Visions for donating the TVs. There were 35 present to enjoy the festivities.
