MESSAGE FROM THE EXALTED RULER

Dear Brother and Sister Elks,

As you will see further in this news letter, the Lodge has been very busy and time for me has gone by quickly.

There are only two months left in my term of office as Exalted Ruler and I have to admit it has been a real learning experience. There have been “very good” times, “good” times and some “ unpleasant” times. The “very good” and “good” fortunately outweigh the “unpleasant”.

I wish the new Executive, who will be elected in May, a  very productive and prosperous term in 2004 and 2005.

In closing I would like to thank all who supported me and volunteered their services to Elkdom during my term of office.

Donna Mazur, Exalted Ruler

My message is co-operation

MEMBERSHIP

DEAR BROTHER and SISTER ELKS,

If you have not paid your 2004 dues could you please contact me at the Club or remit the appropriate funds as soon as possible.  We cannot continue to pay per-capita dues for those in arrears. On the mailing label you will find the word “Life”, if you are a life member, or a year with the letter “f” meaning full dues were paid to that year or “h” meaning only half or less dues were paid. Please check the label and if it does not read ‘2004f’ or ‘life’ your dues are in arrears.

Remember, we value you very highly as a member, and would like to see you remain a member in good standing of our Lodge.

2004 Dues are now over due.

Carol Dawn

Secretary

LODGE NEWS

PHONING COMMITTEE??? Prior to the Birthday dinners, three or four of our already over worked volunteers formed a phoning committee. It does make a difference. These  members spend approximately 20 to 30  minutes each, once or twice a month, phoning all the Kamloops and vicinity members. As indicated, these members are already over worked and we would like to see some other members volunteer to be on a phoning committee. Please contact the office or the Exalted Ruler if you wish to help.

I would like to extend my apologies and give a great big THANK YOU from the Lodge to Bruce Glendenning who did an excellent job for us during the Grey Cup.

On December 12 we catered to the Lion’s. With the help of Danny our cook everything went smoothly.

We are pleased to announce that on December 14 we had 48 children attend our annual Christmas party. To say the least they were entertained “Santaly” by our new Mr. Claus.

On February 1 we had our annual Super Bowl party.

Many thanks to Mike and Carol White, who put together a great chili, Gary Wolfe for looking after the door prizes

and Visions for donating the TVs. There were 35 present to enjoy the festivities.

On February 26 we had the honor of a visit by our District Deputy Garth McLean. At this time we also had a visit by ER Ken Johnson from Merritt who delivered the

Traveling Gavel to us.
